WKRS defies FCC. Allows WeirdBingo on the air

Jerry and Nick on WKRS February 7, 2010 -- WKRS (http://www.wkrs.com/) the megawatt AM juggernaught of Lake County radio broke new ground this week when it permitted WeirdBingo to air three controversial spots during it's flagship "Jerry and Nick" morning drive-time show.

Though long-time listeners were shocked and awed by the low-brow, baudy, and blatantly-pandering messages, most callers to the station admitted that the spots were (regrettably) memorable.

In an attempt at damage control, WeirdBingo's President-for-Life, Tony May, has agreed to make a series of live appearances on the air with Jerry Booth. Listen for these on Wednesdays around 7:30am

Radio watchdog and editor of Stay Tuned magazine, Dave May, says the WeirdBingo radio advertisements are a welcome addition to an otherwise staid radio environment. "I haven't had this much fun since Uncle Larry met snot-face Little Tommy!"

WRKS 1220 AM Spots continue to air on WRKS AM 1220 Monday through Wednesday in the seven o'clock hour.
